While my internship at Mikros Image, I closely worked with the team to test and implement Houdini in their pipeline. At this occasion, we started working on this commercial for Canal+, directed by Matthijs Van Heijningen.
I mainly worked with David Roubah to develop two tools inside of Houdini. We started by doing a meteor asset and then switched to stormy sky generator. The challenge of the generator was to simulate a full high resolution sky but using low resources. We solved it by creating an animated procedural, avoiding simulation, to generate a cloudy spinning volume. We finished all this by doing test with vdb volume within Arnold.
